Ronald Barrios is a very versatile percussionist born in Caracas, Venezuela. He plays and gives classes in Cajon, Congas, Timbales, Bongo, Djembe in the genres of Salsa, Fusion, Latin Jazz, pop and Flamenco.

In the early 90's he started his studies in percussion at the Simon Bolivar Music School and also became a percussionist for the Youth Symphony Orchestra. Meanwhile he continued to enrich his musical knowledge with other renowned percussionists, and in 1996 he began to play professionally with Federico Junior's ‘Magia Caribeña Orchestra’ and toured across Venezuela.
In 2000 he moved to Valencia, Spain where he worked with the ‘Orquesta Sabor’, ‘Chan Junior’ (Cuban salsa) and the ‘Orquesta Sabor Latino’, with which he played for several years, participating in various festivals.
In 2003 he moved to Paris to study under the renowned Orlando Poleo, and became his mentor. On returning to Spain, he continued to deepen his musical education with Miguel "ANGA" Díaz and others. He has since played with ‘Sedajazz Latin Ensemble’ by Francisco Blanco and the renowned ‘Latino’, a Latin Jazz band and 'The Conservatorio Superior de Valencia' led by Professor Manel Ramada to name a few, and worked consistently as a session percussionist, supporting various projects in the genres of pop, jazz, salsa and fusion, and flamenco.
