Laura Alonso Padín

Education & Artistic Background

Born in Villagarcía de Arosa, Spain, Laura Alonso Padín completed her studies in violin and vocal performance. Supported by the prestigious Alexander von Humboldt Scholarship, she continued her advanced training at the Karlsruhe University of Music, studying with Aldo Baldín, Anna Reynolds, Jean Cox, and Hartmut Höll.
At the age of 23, she became a member of the ensemble at the Aalto Theatre in Essen, where she performed leading roles including:

She received the Audience Award “Outstanding Artist” at the Aalto Theatre and represented the house during RUHR.2010 – European Capital of Culture. In 2011, she was awarded the European Union Cultural Prize.
