Eva Polgar was born in 1984 in Budapest as the youngest child in a family of musicians. After moving to Switzerland, she began playing the clarinet at the age of eight. After obtaining her teaching diploma with François Benda at the Basel School of Music, her path led her to London, where she completed her music studies at the Royal College of Music under Richard Hosford with the Master of Music in Advanced Performance and the Artist Diploma with distinction. As a soloist with orchestra, she made her debut in 2011 with the Penderecki Clarinet Concerto in Budapest accompanied by the Dohnànyi Orchestra under the baton of Zsolt Hamar. This was followed by further performances in Taiwan with Debussy's Première Rhapsody with the Pro Arte Orchestra at the National Concert Hall of Taipei under the baton of Chia-Hong Drapal Liao and Mozart's Clarinet Concerto with the Harrow Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Gustavo Ubeda in London. During a two-year stay in Berlin, she pursued her second passion, acting, and studied at the Filmschauspielschule Berlin. Eva Polgar is regularly active as a soloist, chamber and orchestra musician in Switzerland and abroad and teaches at the music schools of Olten and Pfannenstiel. She also appears as an actress and musician in various theater productions.

Her wide range of sounds makes the clarinet indispensable in the orchestra as well as in various musical formations - from classical to jazz and folk to contemporary music. Every instrument is the extension of one's own body, it is the voice with which one expresses one's innermost being. Breathing plays a central role in this process and supports a positive development of one's own body perception.

In addition to my artistic activities, I have been teaching children, teenagers and adults for 14 years. From the beginner to the prospective professional musician: The joy of music and playing together - but also a joyful and motivating learning atmosphere, in which each person is supported attentively and patiently - are the main focus of my teaching. It is important to me to create concentrated, open, humorous and at the same time challenging lessons.
