The native Freiburgerin (D) has its musical roots in the blowing music. After graduating from high school, she began her music studies in orchestral music at the Freiburg University of Music in Breisgau with Prof. Ifor James and then with Prof. Bruno Schneider. After a year abroad at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY (USA) she returned to Germany and continued her studies at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen with Prof. Frank Lloyd. After her studies she worked as a musical horn player in numerous ensemble productions at the two Stuttgart musical theaters, Apollo Theater and Palladium Theater. In addition to this, she was a member of the classical orchestras in the greater Stuttgart area, such as the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra, Southwest German Chamber Orchestra Pforzheim, Württembergische Philharmonie Reutlingen, Baden-Baden Philharmonic Orchestra.
Her musical focus lies in the crossover area. She performed with the SWR Big Band, the Pepe Lienhard Orchestra (Udo Jürgens Tour 2012), the German Pops Orchestra (concerts with the group "PUR", Paul Carrack), Helen Schneider and the Orchestra of Cultures. In 2012 she moved to Switzerland to work as 1st horn player in the musical production "Ich war noch niemals in New York" by Udo Jürgens. Since the end of the production she has been working as a freelance horn player in Switzerland and Germany.
However, teaching has been one of her great passions for over 20 years. Anja Huber has taught at several music schools and is a regular jury member at the German Youth Music Competition "Jugend musiziert".
